About me
A voice made for suspense
My name is Lydia Engenhorst, and under the name Auravoix I bring texts to life as a voice artist — most of all where things get tense: in crime novels and thrillers, where every pause matters and every sentence leaves a trace.
Originally, it all started with a phone call that wasn't even about me. I had seen an ad looking for child models and was absolutely certain: I have the cutest boys in the world. So I picked up the phone.
At the other end of the line, something unexpected happened. The man from the agency wasn't listening to my words at all — he was listening to my voice, and offered me a job as a voice model there and then. That coincidence turned into a passion that keeps me behind the microphone to this day.
That passion has long since become a craft: whether audiobook, commercial or voice-over, I work in a professionally equipped home studio, deliver cleanly produced recordings, and always stay close to the character, pace and atmosphere of your text.
